Dr. Michael Muth
Michael Muth was a Senior Partner and Director of McKinsey & Company, Inc. In his 30 years with the Firm he worked in its Dusseldorf, Munich and New York offices and advised the top management of many major corporations. He was part of the leadership group of the worldwide Financial Institutions Sector. Mr. Muth initiated and ran the Firm's Insurance and Asset Management Practice in Europe for more than 15 years. Mr. Muth also had an active management role in the Firm serving many years on various worldwide management committees of McKinsey.
Since retiring from McKinsey in 2001 Mr. Muth has been serving on several Boards and in Senior Advisory roles to corporations in Europe and the US, among them a large US investment bank, private equity firms, and various non-financial companies. He is an active investor and business angel in small/medium sized companies and new ventures. Mr. Muth also serves on the Boards of several non-profit institutions, among them the INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau and large family foundations.
Michael Muth is a lawyer by education, received a doctor's degree in law from the University of Freiburg and is admitted to the German bar (Rechtsanwalt). He earned an MBA from INSEAD/Fontainebleau.
Mr. Muth is a frequent speaker at business conferences across the world, contributes to industry jounals/business press (including the Wall Street Jounal, Manager Magazin, McKinsey Quarterly) and is an author in various business books.
